For a number of years Dana Sederowsky’s production has increasingly come to incorporate and to survey the written word, through extensive handwritten texts covering large wall areas. Focusing on human psychology, the use of language, and the apparent meaninglessness of life, she employs repetition and repeated motifs as her means of expression and method.
The Text Walls project, begun in 2013, comprises several site-specific works in which the handwritten word has been assigned a leading role.
Sederowsky’s art is always meticulously planned and controlled by a conceptual system of regulations. Her art touches on the borders of monomania. Spoken and written words play a central role, even when they are excluded. In numerous works sentences flow rhythmically out of her mouth or her pen and are gradually altered. Time influences the content; something that is unavoidable.
